Laurent Clouet

Clarinetist, saxophonist

An eclectic clarinetist and saxophonist, Laurent Clouet trained through his travels and encounters with traditional oral music.

Over the last fifteen years, he has specialized in Eastern European music, working alongside some of the major performers of this repertoire: Selim Sesler and Serdar Pazarcıoğlu in Turkey, Nikola Iliev and Petar Voinikov in Bulgaria, Manos Achalinotopoulos and Stavros Pazarentsis in Greece.

He regularly gives training courses and conferences on klezmer and Balkan music in France and abroad, particularly for the Drom association. He has also been invited to supervise workshops for the musical education program of the Philharmonie de Paris "Demos".

He is involved in many groups with diverse aesthetics such as Bey.Ler.Bey Trio, Le Bal Takamba and Infernal Biguine (Creole music), Beigale Orkestra and the Waxband Projekt (Klezmer music)… He is also invited to participate as a soloist in concerts and recordings in France, Turkey, Morocco, India.
