Jean-Marc Delaunay

Musician

After spending a few years learning traditional music and dance within the folk association Galaor in Rouen, Jean-Marc Delaunay spent ten years in Auvergne from 1990 to 2000, where his work in the association Les Brayauds-CDMDT63 (Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom) allowed him to become a professional in this field. While playing in several musical groups in many balls and concerts , he deepened his knowledge of the music of the Massif Central, and worked on all types of sources (written musical collections, collection recordings, etc.), and frequented the traditional fiddlers still present on the Artense plateau at that time (notably Joseph Perrier and André Gatignol).

He has been teaching since the early 1990s, and obtained the State Diploma in traditional violin in 1996, while practicing several instruments (popular flutes and bagpipes). In 1998, Jean-Marc Delaunay produced a double CD-booklet of repertoire "Les violons de l'Artense" (AMTA) as a solo violinist .

From 2000, he lived on the border of Périgord and Limousin, where he taught, notably at the Intercommunal School of Music and Dance in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, and at the Regional Center for Traditional Music in Limousin (CRMTL) in Seilhac (19) . It is also within the framework of the CRMTL that he continues his work of publishing various repertoires and documents : "Cahier de chansons" by Léon Peyrat in 2003, and numerous articles, scores, recordings of repertoires.
