Ingrid Le Gargasson

Anthropologist, researcher, programmer

Ingrid Le Gargasson is an anthropologist and associate researcher at the Center for Research in Ethnomusicology (CREM) of the Laboratory of Ethnology and Comparative Sociology (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense – CNRS)

She obtained a thesis in social and historical anthropology at the EHESS in December 2015 (" La fabrique des maîtres ") . This study aims to understand the discursive, social and technical characteristics of the transmission of Hindustani music in North India, from the end of the 19th century to the present day. She is particularly interested in the Khayāl genre. In fact, since 2003, Ingrid has worked regularly with the singer Sudhanshu Sharma.

She was in charge of programming and broadcasting at the Maison des Cultures du Monde and he is now artistic director and co-founder of the Kalasetu association which promotes South Asian performing arts in India and France.
